Still Life Paintings, oils on canvas, 9x12 and 12x12
JENNIFER E. MILLER STUDIO
My studio is at 102 W. King Street, downtown Hillsborough NC, a part of the Hillsborough Artists Cooperative, founded 1992. Lucky me, I've had my studio here since 1994, with a view of the old courthouse out the window, and across the street from the Eno Gallery which represents me.
Downstairs is a warm, fragrant Italian restaurant, Antonia's.
I teach private drawing and painting lessons on the weekends but mostly I work on my own art, from paintings to drawings to experimental concepts and mixed media.
For twenty years I worked outside on my paintings, "en plein air," and still do but I've also moved into more studio work that allows additional creative freedom.
Outside is still the best place to work, though. In the studio, it's just me and the limits of my own head, while the natural world inspires and teaches.

Outside of the studio I have spent years working on site with my sister Deede Miller, above (http://lesliemillervisualarts.homestead.com) in various parks where we camp, paint and play for three or four days at a time.
